Festival of the “Fat Ox”

The Festival of the Fat Ox is a traditional folk event held every year. It begins at the first light of dawn, when the best cattle of the Piedmontese Race are gathered in front of juries for a grand award ceremony.  The day is filled with wonderful foods - especially the traditional bowls of tripe soup and the "Gran Bollito Piemontese" -  great boiled meats from Carrù.  This festival really captures the charm of local culture and is one of the oldest fairs in Piedmont.  Held on the second Thursday before Christmas from 6am-noon.
